I have a problem!

I just put in a new radio after my car got broken into and my heater takes forever to heat up! I mean like 1hr to get some kind of heat and thats probably coming from the engine! any sugg. ?

what car and yr ? 96-98 there is a heater cable that opens and closes the valve for hot air into the cabin.
