ExcessiveCRX's Project Log
Welcome to my Honda CRX project log!
I keep seeing all these people posting up thier project cars with loads of pictures of all the things they have been working on, so now It's my turn.
Some of you may know that I had previously driven a red CRX that was rear ended a couple of weeks ago and written off. I got a great deal from ICBC and a few days ago I found my new project car.
This new found beauty has got some imperfections, the worst being the rear quarterpanels which seem to be almost completely constructed of bondo that is starting to crack and allow rust to bubble through. My remedy for that will be cutting and rewelding new metal in the coming months. Overall though this car is way better then the last one and now I get to put all the good things from the red CRX into this much nicer blue CRX.
My list of completion thus far:
- swapped out much of the interior pieces that were painted horribly and damaged with my good condition black coloured pieces and door panels.
- fixed the drivers window which was not screwed onto the metal piece at the bottom
- fixed the sunroof by swapping the switch from my old rex
- fixed the crazy dent in the drivers side front fender as best I could for now
- installed my speakers and crap *** deck
- installed my steering wheel and shift **** which made it feel like I was right at home again
Next week I think I am going to start the drivetrain transplant. I am planning to take alot of time to clean up the engine bay really well once I get the old d16a6 out of there so that my d16z6 with look as good as it should look.
I will keep this updated with pics of all future modifications most likely starting with the engine swap so stay tuned!
And finally what you have been waiting for, pics of the new project CRX in its current condition:

overall car looks decent. get some black brake caliper paint for those rear drums.
3$ ghetto fix for rusty drums.
i hate aftermarket anything on a cars interior so no comment from me there.
good luck with the car.
