Default mpfi swap question.

I had a question about extra parts i have laying around. i just got a dx HB and want to mpfi swap it. what i have laying around is a d16z6 sohc vtec intake manifold, mounted with a b18a LS throttle body, and i have 89 integra fuel injectors. will the manifold fit on the dx head? and can i use the integra injectors?

thanks

the manifold probably wont fit. id put money that it wont. Why not just spend the extra bucks on a mini me and get the bare head? BTW if u dont need that wiring harness (the DX) let me know.

1) Yes you can use the manifold on the head. For quick reference, all D-Series heads share the same intake manifold bolt pattern EXCEPT the DOHC ZC. Also, between 88-95 the same head casting was used for the D15B1, D15B2, D15B7, and the D16A6.
2) This is a quick write up on what’s needed to install a D16Y8 intake manifold on a D16A6. Other manifold swaps will be similar in nature. Such as a D16Z6 manifold on a D15B7…etc - http://www.geocities.com/joeyp....html
3) The Injectors will work just don't forget your resistor box.

CRseXxy, PM me about the money you owe me -

And if we don't want this thread locked by moderators you should use that nifty invention called email to arrange any sails as the original poster does not have access to IM's yet or the FS/WTB Forum.

I'm a D-Series guy and I can tell you off the top of my head that the B18C1 manifold won't bolt on to a B18A/B or B20B/Z, B16A will bolt onto a B17 and a B18C5, and nothing but the C1 will bolt onto the C1. Correct me im wrong.

ok, now what are the up and down sides of running a si cam? will it work with the dx set-up till i do the mpfi swap? reason being my timing belt is over due, and i need to change it and wanted to run a more aggressive cam, is this a good cam to run?

There is no disadvantage to running the a6 cam. Your DPFI head is identical to the a6 head except the cam. Someone correct me if i am wrong.

Ok, you can run the A6 cam but you have to remember the indexing on the end for the cam gear was designed for a slightly taller deck so you will need an adjustable cam gear if you want to go this route to make sure the cam and crank timing is down.

ok i got an idea. how about i take the A6 cam specs to the machine shop with a dx cam and have the lobes welded and ground to the A6 specs. that way i wont have timing issues with it.

Not cost effective any more unless they will do it for you for free.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 4thgenHB157 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ok i got an idea. how about i take the A6 cam specs to the machine shop with a dx cam and have the lobes welded and ground to the A6 specs. that way i wont have timing issues with it.</TD></TR></TABLE>
