Default looking into buying an ITR

i might possibly be selling my car and trying to pick up an ITR, ive always loved the integra look, and the ITR just feels like its on rails when taking corners

but my main concern with the ITR is theft, i live in southern cali and near the border, but im going to be moving into some apartments (that means no garage) im not asking what u guys have for alarm systems cause i know u dont want ppl knowin what u guys do or dont have but if u guys could tip me in on some good security systems that u guys would recommend it wuld be a great help

Socal + type r + no garage = certain theft , its sad but true. unless your don't mind your car getting taken, i would wait until you have a garage.

just get a GSR. i've got a GSR and think it's great. handles well, good power, and is so much more comfortable to ride in than an ITR is. with the money you'll save on insurance alone you could do some basic modifications and get it up to ITR standards.

i live in suburbia Kansas City, and wouldn't even consider owning an ITR unless i had a garage to put it in. if you buy one, you'll be another certain statistic.

GET A TYPE R AND IF YOU WANNA BE SURE ITS NOT GONNA BE DRIVEN AWAY TAKE OUT YOUR ECU OR HAVE YOUR OWN MANUAL KILL SWITCHES. THERES A FEW FUEL DELIVERY RELAYS I DISCOVERED THAT KEEP YOUR CAR FROM STARTING. I DOUBT THIEVES ANTICIPATE **** LIKE THAT. I MEAN COME ON THEY ARE THIEVES,LOW LIVES WHO ARE UNEDUCATED AND WILL BE PUT IN A SHALLOW GRAVE IF I EVER CATCH ONE IN THE ACT.

Compustar for me...
But even with a paging alarm system it's only time before they grab your caR.

I would hold off buying one until you can get a garage.

Good luck on your move and decisions

GSR and Type R are two way different cars from the factory stock.

And both *will* get stolen irregardless.

I LOVE THE NEWBIES WHO COME ON THIS BOARD AND THINK BY TYPING IN CAPS THEY WILL BE HEARD BETTER. I LOVE HOW THEY COME ON AND LIKE TELL PEOPLE "YO HITTEN THE SWITCHES" AND "TAKING YOUR ECU OUT" AND OTHER SHIZZZIT WILL KEEP YOUR CAR NOT STOLEN WITH A PAGER ALARM!

You have a lot to learn...and i hope you get the chair for killing a thief. Get a life. You wouldnt do jack ****. You talk big, but thats it.

And if they wanted to take your precious 100 kill switch remote ecu'ed car with like no steering wheel and whatever other crap you did, all they have to do is FLAT BED it.

Sorry if you don't like being torn a new hole, but then don't post this non-sense BS. You'll give people a false sense of security.

Thanks for playing. Come again.

Ouch!

This is the unfortunate truth to a horrible reality. All we can do is layer the security to make it a pain in the *** but nothing is ever really 'secure' per say. Just remember: anything you ever own can be potentially stolen at any time.

Take a house security system. This only gauranties that the thief isn't going to rob you blind but he'll more than likely still get away with something.

The problem lies deeper than thieves being "uneducated" which I have even said myself. I feel the problem lies within the judicial system and how just about every criminal fine is too ******* lax. If we started cutting off hands (extreme yes but effective and currently being implimented in other countries) or there was a way we could label these ******** so people know who's a theif and who isn't would be effective also. I just feel the laws are not stringent enough.

Let's look at sex offenders as a perfect example. Everywhere this ****** goes, he's supposed to register within the community so people are aware of who he is and can take proper precautions. If we had something like this for people who have been arrested and convicted for grand theft auto or any malicious crime I feel would benifit us all.

The reality is, I'd listen to everyone on this board and their opinions if your thinking of purchasing this car. I think the garage is definately key, because not only is it grand theft auto when someone takes your car, but there are numerous other laws broken such as trespassing, breaking and entering...to name a few.

Though if you can get a beater to drive to work and the mall and keep the R stored somewhere safer, I say go for that option. Owning a type R is better than never owning one right ?

Aloha,
Brandon

you're right, there are a lot of differences between an ITR and a GSR, but it wouldn't take a whole helluva lot to make up the performance difference. you could easily take the price difference between the two, modify it, and have a comparitive car performance wise. it won't have some of the other cool things like an ITR has, like the seats, amber guages, and what have you, but it's all about what you're into.

<---would love to have an ITR.
