Default Ninja 250 Question

Buyin one off a friend.. an 89 or 90 i believe, to practice on before i step up to the 600 class.

Just for fun, are there any slip-ons i can buy for it?

I dont wanna end up spending more than i did on the bike ($200)

What brands should i check for on ebay? "ninja 250 exhaust" or "slip-on" yields no results on ebay so far.. or did no one bother making one?

Muzzy f00l!

You won't make much power with it put you will drop an assload of weight. Dump the stock exhaust and center stand and you'll be flying on the 250

Check this site out:

http://ninja250.kingston.net/

Their FAQ has info on everything including exhausts.

I loved that forum when I first started to ride my ex250. Muzzy is a great exhaust for it.

cheese, im keepin an eye out for myself (and to have friends practice on) just think... how light are those buggers?

you may want to try a bigger rear sprocket or smaller front sprocket if it needs a little more pep!

I think mines plenty fun and full of pep. If you go on some of those 250 forums, some people take them on some pretty long road trips, too.

I dunno about changing the sprokets because the top speed is only 100-110. I had thought about doing a Muzzy exhaust myself, but I know absolutely **** about re-jetting carbs, so I never did.

An exhaust on an EX250 doesn't make sense. Why not use your money towards gear? You won't make that money back once the exhaust is purchased. But gear can be taken with you from bike-to-bike.

Besides...it's still a Kawi...

I was on my 250 today and I think I need to get an exhuast for it. It sounds like a ******* sewing machine flying along at 80 mph.

NatakuBlitz let me know where you pick yours up from and how much it was

Nataku, it's good to see you're picking up a bike, I just picked up my 250 yesterday (Reborn: yeah, I had to listen to that sound for 5 hours riding the bike home, it gets old real fast.)

Hit me up, we'll go riding.

This was with ear plugs in!

They block out all the wind noise so the sewing ma-cheen effect is worse

I had a '89 250 Ninja back in 1993. It had a Kerker slip on--sounded great! I wasn't too concerned about power gain or weight loss back then, just a kick-*** sound.

The combination of the slip-on and the parallel twin motor gave it an awesome sound.

YEAH! just going for the sound, unfortunately things got pushed back and i am picking it up in mid march.. booo but i am definitely getting it so ill try to find the exhaust in the meantime.. i suppose ih ave to rejet too so i dont run lean

When i rode it, it was a little sluggish in turns but thats also cause i really suck at riding right now. it feels a little thick..but you can throw it around some..

ill keep everyone here updated! thanks all.

Stock 304 lbs/ 340 lbs (Dry/Close Estimated Wet)

After Muzzy exhaust* 292 lbs/ 328 lbs (Dry/Close Estimated Wet)

*Includes removal of centerstand and head pipe swap, not slip on. 8 Pound loss for canisters (known), estimated 4 for centerstand/headpipe swap, might be more or less.

That's right, even the kerker is a full system because I don't remember having a centerstand!

Do you happen to remember where you got the Kerker, I can't find it for the Ninja.

Anyone find a better price?

That's better by more than 50 dollars than the lowest I found.
