Default JG Edelbrock header, someone have tryed one?

I was checking on the JG Edelbrock header and wondered if this header is worth what they charge for it. I'm just curious, some input? comments?

i would like to know also. I have heard that they have a header w/ a 2.5" collector but all the websites show a 2 1/4" collector.. i wonder if JG makes custom headers? like according to your mods or plans to the car.

I believe the collector is 2" since it bolts up to a stock ITR cat. Their race piece has a different collector (3") and it's much longer and has a turn down so it's meant to be used by itself..no exhaust. I think the secondaries are the same size on both versions. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Actually, the runners are kept in place. What you switch is the pre-cat section. The 2'' section is hooked up to the stock exhaust for daily driving and the 3" section is for racing app. used alone (free exhaust). Of course, the racing section is an option purchased separate. What I don't really get is why the non racing section is just 2" when the stock collector is 2 1/4"? They say that with this header you can get a gain of up to 10whp with minor mods, I think.

thanks for the Plug im sure Dave appreciates it, and we all know he makes a qualtity product, and no matter how hard you plug for him I dont think he will give you a discount

Back to the subject

Import Bulders Uses the JG edelbrock but I think Jeff Welds a custom 2.5" collector on it, works pretty well from what jeff says, maybe we could get him to respond, but he does'nt seem to come sround much anymore

I thought the stock collector was 2 1/4 " but, anyway, who's Jeff?
I wonder how much "extra" would cost the little extra work of welding the 2.5" collector to that header. Whatever, I wasn't really interested in buying that header, just curious for some general info though.

Thanks guys for clearing it up!
