Default horror $$ story... any advise?!

About a week ago i went to Autozone (gulp, dont kill me for this, keep in mind im broke) to order a K&N filter for my accord. They told me it would be there in about 6 days. Today is the 6th day, i went to go get it and i didnt have the slip they gave me when i pre-purchased it. To make a long story short, the manager told me that:

1)Even though i ordered it for ME, as soon as it got in "they could have sold it to someone else!!"
2) I am out of luck and 48$ in the hole , they wont give me a refund or another filter! I called their main line, but being a sat. noone was there. Basically Autozone has my money and wont give me a product!!! Any ideas anyone?? BTW DONT SHOP THERE!

Did you ask them if anyone else ordered the filter? Has anyone else been in to pick up your order?
Did you tell them that you are physic and you knew by telepathy that they had a part that you just happenned to need and that no one has shown up to pick up?
********. Take a life lesson here and don't buy from that dealer again. They are going to make an extra profit on this part but at what cost? They lost all future buisness from you. Is that good customer service?
It takes 13 good customers to make up for 1 bad customer. This is a fact of buisness life and you should remind people in buisness of this fact.

Try contacting the regional manager. That's exactly why I don't like pre-ordering parts. You never know what your in for.

i agree with both of you. At the time i was too pissed to tell him much of anything except cause a scene in front of everyone in the store. I figured i would announce to everyone what they did. I was in my military uniform and one of the employees actually had the nerve to tell me that i was making the army look bad!!! (I did leave a message on the district managers phone, and email...) I will keep yall updated, im not gonna let this stand untill i get my filter or money

it should be in their computer, everything is always in the computer. there must be some way to force them to pull it up, maybe you can go back at another time, when otehr people are workign there and ask them to pull it up on the computer of the order and give you a print out or something.

call anouther store in the same region, and ask them if your part is in. also ask why the hell do they give out pre-purchased slips and not check them. maybe you can go on autozone.com and check your order

Where's the slip that they gave you when you ordered the part?

And assuming that you used a credit card, you could always dispute the charge on the grounds that you never received the part, which is a valid reason to dispute a charge.

just cancel the order with your credit card company.
