just got a 90 hatch, want a cheap easy swap, maybe a6, or ls is even better
hey, i just joined honda-tech, and a couple of days ago.i own 94 non-turbo dsm, its been rebuilt, and its dependable, but i needed something to play with, and a non-turbo dsm is the last thing that any company wants to design an after market product for, anyway, im 17 and so far ive owned a toyota corrola wagon that me and my friend built, that lasted about 2 months, after i threw a rod in that, i bought a 90 mazda protege, that whipped everything it went up against, it was an amazing car. while i had that, i bought an 89 si rex at a police auction, it was dependable, but had a bad habit of letting the oil come out of the exhaust, i ran it out of oil three times and it still ran great except for the burnt oil. ANYWAYS... i also had a 91 lincoln towncar and a blazer, all just to beat the crap out of. then i got the dsm, blew the motor in 2 weeks, had it rebuilt, and now is gonna stay with me for the forseeable future. i just bought a 90 std hatch, d15, 4 on the floor(i just like to say that) its in decent shape, nothing spectacular, i just would like some input or offers on a cheap reliable swap, or any other advice on what i should do, i already partially gutted it, all the carpet, headliner... any input would be great. thanks guys
you've amassed quite a fleet under your belt since being 17. then again i'm only 19. I've owned an Iroc-Z "blue thunder" and i did a total flip and went with the CRX....Pegoda.
I say for an easy swap to get yourself totally wrapped up in honda/Acura, do the crx Si swap....that will give you a down to earth crash coarse in honda. Everything from tranny work, to wiring, to internals, to fuel...and so on and so on. It's good fun doing a swap.....just make sure you do research and leave about 1000$ for emergencies.
