Default yahooooo.....I didn't do too bad autocrossing my tacoma...

There was a huge turnout for the first event - 220+ drivers, so we only got 3 runs...but it was still a blast! Overall with my bone stock Tacoma I managed to PAX in at 175 out of the 211 or so entries. I love how the truck took to the course, was predictable and easily controllable - mostly because of the cheap stock tires. I aired the front more than the rears (33psi F/30psi R, standard is 29psi all around, Max for tires is 35psi). Tread was wearing just perfectly to the triangle tip on the front and about 1/8-1/4" to the triangle tip on the rears. To get the best time required the "Slow is Faster" principle, which I used on the first and last runs...The middle two runs (lucked out and was in the timing error group = automatic immediate rerun for free!) I tried the "Fast and Furious" approach. "Fast and Furious" style was marginally faster than my first run (which I use to get acquainted with the course).

"Slower is Faster" worked a lot better, even though it didn't seem so. With better tires the tacoma would probably do a lot more, even though the rear would still come out - which is bad using the "Fast and Furious" method as your spinning the rears coming out of the turns for a while which really loses some time. Anyways, I really don't plan on running the truck anymore, just that once to see how it handles when pushing. My Integra is going to be the focus of my Autocross endevours from now on...

On a funny side note there was a C3 corvette that was staged right behind me. Well, when he crossed the finish, this is what the announcer said: "Time xx.xxx ... You got beat buy a truck buddy...." Was was also kinda funny is the weirdo lady / husband duo driving that Trans AM...they just couldn't handle "all that" power of the auto V8, the car looked like someone was trying to learn how to drive a standard transmission for the first time.... The corner workers were like " here she comes...Get out of the way!! (Well she did spin straight towards the corner four station, but stopped with plenty of room)...people need to learn to be easy on the brakes and throttle...lol

Here's a link to the results page of the Houston region:

...My goal for getting the integra setup is to at least be running even with Carlyle Thomas and his STD '90 Integra...Then rachet it up from there....

At the last autocross I was at there was a full size Chevy pickup. He actually did pretty well, it was surprising how quickly he could move that thing around.
