Ok well im in the process of getting myself a tig welder and the guy at the shop was testing everything out again to be sure everything was good. well, i guess the tip was broke or something and he wanted to know if i wanted him to order the part to fix it, or if i just wanted something he had. the one that comes with the welder is 350amp water cooled, so its either get a new one of those, or get his 250 amp water cooled or 200amp air cooled. Now i know im not gona go with the air cooled b/c water is better, but Id like to know what the difference between the 350 and 250 amp and what the different uses are if any. thanks

That would be the difference of max. Amperage. 100 amps different.

Without any more information that's all I can tell you.

What do you mean the "tip" was broken. Do you maybe mean the torch? If that was not working, you can buy entirely new torches. DON'T take the 250 over the 350 just because the torch wasn't working, they're easily replaced.

BTW, 350 is HUGE. I use a 180 SD (air-cooled), and I've only even heard the fan kick on once.

 

Ok, i went to the shop today. I picked up a water cooler with it too for a good price. and i went with the 250amp torch b/c the machine is only a 250, theres no need for it to be more than that. ill post pics of everything i got once they deliver it on wed. or thurs.
