2000 Integra Type R - 596 RIP - TOTALLED...
Hi, i need some help in determining how much money i should get from my insurance company (progressive) for my totalled 2000 Integra Type R
It has about 47000 miles, OEM JDM FRONT W/ HID, Spoon Carbon lip, and CF hood.
Anybody that have had their car totalled can they report how much money they have gotten? If so can you also give me your email so i can contact you. I reall don't want to get raped by the insurance company. By just looking at the blue book value the car is worth about $14800. I figure they are going to give me 80% of the value. I believe some of you guys have gotten a lot more money and I would like to know how you guys did this. Thanks everybody. I hope you guys can help me out.
Also if you guys know of any links to threads of this sort, can you post the link for me, i tried searching but came up with nothing.
Again, I would like to thank everybody in advance for helping me out.
Here are some pictures since my 5 year ownership of this car 2000...

Here are the pictures after the accident...

ps... this happened on the 110S coming from pasadena going to downtown LA... i don't want to say anything about this now until everything is settled with my insurance... i hope you guys understand...

Also, if I may add, in regards to getting for sale ad's for other R's in your market, the general rule of thumb is the insurance adjuster is going to tell you to get three, but I would also find dealers who are selling also. And get more than three. Alond with that, any other information you can get on the rarity of the car would help. Pretty much anything you can do that you feel you can benifit from then get it for your adjuster, also, make the process smooth for him even though your going to be stressed out at times.
With my experience, trying to get the insurance company to pay for aftermarket parts is very hard and very frustrating if you didn't have that in your insurance policy. Keep your head up. Rebuild it.
Aloha,
Brandon

The A pillars don't even appear to be bent and the doors still look like they line up.
Could be a great builer for someone non the less.
Good luck.</TD></TR></TABLE>
naw she's done, frame's gonna be all warped and pushed in....
and uhhhh quarter panels???? i'll assume you're asking about the rear
could be a great project for someone else... buy a complete ITR front clip and throw that on... doubt you're gonna be pulling the frame out at this point.
so sorry mang

Hopefully the insurance co. will deem it a loss. I have seen worse, but this is all up to the insurance adjuster handling the claim.
You said it best, it's best not to divulge any information about the accident until the claim is closed. Good luck
Full coverage was in effect I hope

Even though it's full coverage, you way want to read your policy again. More times than not, "aftermarket" parts are not in the policy unless specified and paid for. *shrug*

thanks guys...
regarding aftermarket parts, my insurance company progressive covers only 1000 dollars. the car was basically back to stock except for the jdm front, cf hood, and cf lip, and an intake...
also one more thing, anybody know where i can find some credible information about the production numbers for all the years the ITR were sold in the US?

You may have an angle if the adjuster is open minded and you can prove the rarity/collector charactoristics/value if the car.
For example: You own a 67 GTO Judge all original and you wreck it. Let's say it books for 15K but the market value is somewhere around 35K due to the rarity of it. NADA and Kelly blue book I don't think, takes these factors into consideration. You would then need to prove this information as best you can because we all know that 15K will never buy an all original GTO Judge.
Aloha,
Brandon - Who's 97 R is only worth around $11,500 w/out rarity value and aftermarket parts.

You may find that link of interest. Call it what you will. When reading what the website says makes me think that the car isn't being sold enough to determine a value which means for one reason or another, people are collecting them and/or holding on to them because of some kind of value.

As for aftermarket parts.. I know when I had progressive insurance on my GSR I had $1000 dollars of aftermarket insurance in my policy and I didn't even know until my car was totalled...got a new icebox becuase of it too....
As when it comes to determining the value...they will go by the valve just before the accident....so going by nada values they will probably pay you 17,075(which is the retail value) and if you have aftermarket insurance cover some of your car parts that you have reciepts for....I know I bought my GSR in JAN of 04 for $5775 (retail value, so thats how much I took out for my loan, really paid 5100) and I had it in storage until late march.....I drove it for like 5 weeks and I was rear ended...progressive gave me 5775(I only put like 2500 miles on it) and paid me for the icebox I had too..so good luck and I would buy it back and part it out...my GSR was only 300 to buy back so you can make some money on it..
Here's a pic of my GSR rear ended by a APV Lumina Minivan going 40mph and I was at a dead stop!!!

I hit a minivan in front of me and that van tapped a explorer..
