ignitor heat sink?
i had a problem with my 1990 honda accord not starting. it cranked but wouldn't start. a lot of people suggested that my ignitor module went bad. i replaced the module but when replaceing i noticed that the ignitor heat sink that the ignitor sat on did not match up perfectly. does anybody know if you must buy a new heat sink with the control module or if the stock one if fine? my car still hasn't started.
yeah there were 3 different makes of ignitors, the dealer should have the ignitor with the heat sink.
If the car still won't throw spark you could check for power at the Black/Yellow wire at the coil, when the key is in the run position.

And if you have power at this point, what would you say would be the problem?
I have a similar problem. I replaced the Ignitor, Cap, and Rotor. I'm about to replace the coil, but I'm getting tired of buying parts. Any way to check the coil for defect?
Thanks! Hope you find your problem squarehead!

My father in laws car with 285k miles had this similar problem, it just wouldnt start one morning.
His ignitor checked out as bad so I replaced it but the car still wouldnt start. Did a bit more checking and tested the coil as being bad also.
After everything was said and done it now runs like a top. We ended up replacing the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, and ignitor.
My best recomendation would be to go and get a haynes manual and an ohm meter to check and see if your coil is bad.
Good luck on getting your car running.
