Default B16 speedometer question

ok, so my B16 is now in the car. Im in the process of bolting everything in but ill be damned if i can find the place to plug in the speedometer cable. It is a Y1 w/ lsd if it matters. The only place i can think of it going there is a metal box thingy with 3 10mm screws holding it on and a sensor plug of some kind. I took it off and tried to plug it in but to no avail. Im totally stumped and any info would be great and a pic would be great.
TIA, adam

if it's a cable tranny. On the tranny you'll see a thing with two vetns coming out of it. Take out the cut cable and put it in, but make sure you hold on to the CLASP to keep the cable in.

Now when you say the old one you are refering to the speedometer cable right? If so it will not plug into the Y1 once i remove that metal thing with a clip. Or is there there another piece on my old tranny that needs to be pluged in. If so my old one has a 10 mm bolt attached to where it pluged in but once i removed that it is broken off from where the speedometer cable pluged in. hope im making sense.

look at the first and second pic..find the black boot..
[Looks like a top-hat]

The scrappers usually just cut the cable..
(Otherwise you have the wrong type of sending unit)
