Default motor swap or not.

So my girlfriends 90 integra is in desperate need of a new motor (290k miles) but I was wondering, it is an automatic but when I change the motor motor Im gonna change it to manual also, would a B16 be a big improvement over the stock LS thats in it, or should I stick with a LS motor (with the Manual swap still)

She's going to be getting a new car in the near future and I'm going to be keeping the car integra for myself and to do a little weekend track days.

Which would you say has more potential, the B16 or B18? the only reason I'm still not counting out the B18 is because of the torque gains over the B16.

sell the car and get a newer one............not worth putting in a new motor when the body/chassis has over 290k miles on it.......everything else will start to fall apart soon enough......
