Default 12:1 too high for street??

1998 JDM ITR, want to put skunk 2 stage 2 cams, cam gears, full port and polish,rc 310cc injectors, and already have JDM DC 4-1 header. The question is I want to put a 2 layer honda head gasket with shaving the head 15 thousandths, to give me a 12:1 compression ratio. Is this too high for 93 octane, and or possible 91, or am I dreaming and asking for detenation?? This will all be tuned with hondata also.

Its very possible. Get to 12.5:1 and come back with this question. Otherwise you will be okay. Be sure your tuner knows what he is doing which I am sure he does.

Tuning is definitely key. I ran 12:5:1 on $hitty cali 91 octane without any issues.

Thanks all, the actual compression is 11.89-1 (cspeed) I live in Sudbury ON. where 93 is VERY hard to come by and 91 is the premium here!! so 91 should be ok? Last thing is should I tune at the dyno in waterloo on 91, as this is what I will be running mostly??
