Upper model Tein's (non-HA's!) vs. other brands
This was actually brought up in a previous post (Mugen vs. Tein) that got locked cuz it went a lil OT, but there was something that I found interesting in that post.
Tein's were really hot for a while, but the interests for them seem to be dying down since the introduction of Zeals to the US. Most ppl compare the coilovers such as Zeal B6/S6 and Super Function, Buddy Club RS and P1, and Mugen N1 and N0 to the Teins and say the Teins are too soft or don't feel as tight on the track. However, I think most ppl are comparing these upper models from the other brands against the Tein HA's, which is Tein's entry level track/street coilover. I have a lot of plans in the future (hopefully near future) and one of them includes selecting a good track coilover. I keep my options open from the JDM ones to the domestic ones (Truechoice). What I'd really like to know is people's experiences with the upper model Teins like the RA and RE. The Tein RE's are one of the choices I'm looking at as their competitively priced w/ Zeal B6's and BC RS's. They also have the adjustable shock length that the other brands have (and the RA's don't), and a larger piston valve than the B6/S6 and are made of aluminum (lighter than both Zeal B6 and BC RS). I don't mention the Tein N1 and RS cuz those have independently adjustable compression and rebound and none of the other ones I mentioned have that, and I don't want to have to mess with them separately. So what are ppl's impressions/experiences w/ the Tein RE's (and even RA's, tho the RE's are supposed to be more aggressively valved than the RA's and are considered by Tein as more of a track coilover)?? I don't want to hear "Tein sucks" cuz the Mugen N1's were compared to Tein HA's. If you experienced the RA's and RE's against another brand/model, than please give your impressions and why? Thanks.
