Default axle question

I searched but there wasn't much info. Do abs axles from 4th gen preludes work on abs 5th gens? I pretty sure auto needs auto axles and manual needs manual.
Or is that not right? For friend who's car is in the shop cause they put axle off of a 89 lude instead of 98.

thanks

Is the car a manual or an auto?

Which axles does he need? Driver's or psg's side?

Is it base or SH?

What year Prelude?

It's a auto, I think he needs the passengers side, It's a 98 base auto.

thanks

He should use a psg's side axle for a 98 auto then. I'd say he could use a 4th gen or 5th gen psg's side axle for either an auto or manual but I'm not certain if the splines are the same. Although I'd guess that they are.

i think he was asking if tehy were interchangeable, but in all honesty, why would you wanna do that...i mean i guess i understand if you have an extra one lieing around, but really, tehy are only about 50-75 bucks for a rebuilt one with a live time warranty
