help with wing removal

Default help with wing removal

so i went to remove my wing today off a OEM 2000 ITR hatch. i got it out fine but i want to know what did you guys do ot get all the adhesive off? that is so anoying i'm going at it with a blowdryer but its taking forever.. also my paint is like molding like it melted

Exactly the same method I used. If your paint is becoming damaged somehow, you're doing something wrong.

I believe simple green advises that you not expose your paint to it.

Back OT, when I removed the emblems on my last caR I heated them up with a blow dryer and pryed the goo of with my fingers and what was left I kept waxing and waxing until it was all gone.

use that goo off ****, that works as well. We used it on my friends celica no paint damage. WD40 works too.

hmm i woulda tryed the wd-40 first. I need to get my car pro detailed soon anyway. I found a new mark and its bothering me lol yes I know i am a ricer as opie soo elegantly put it haha

The damage (at least some of it) appears to be rust forming under the paint. The adhesive you're trying to remove is not the factory foam, indicating that the wing had been previously removed and reinstalled. The rust most likely formed either while the wing was off, or because the new adhesive didn't form a good seal and allowed moisture to enter and become trapped.

I have to agree and say that it looks like you have rust. It does not look like the factory holes, is that a replacement hatch?

k i finish washing and detailing d i'mnot done yet
i bough all this yesterday and picked up clay bar and other stuff today

looks like the paint was still a bit wet, when the wing was attached to the caR.

Just be sure to thoroughly wash and wax the area once you're done.
