What is the difference in a JDM F22A and the USDM F22A1 SOHC VTEC motors? Is the compression ratio any higher? The reason i ask is because my friend has a F22A (not in his Accord) and is not sure how much hp it makes. Everytime we ask someone the answer ranges from 135hp to 150hp. Also he was thinking of boosting it. Any info would be appreciated.

The F22a1 is not VTEC.

Well the horsepower differs between the F22A models.... say, F22A1: SOHC 16V 130 hp. The F22A6: SOHC 16V 140hp.

Now the differnce between F22A and F22B is that F22A is a SOHC Non-VTec and F22B is a DOHC VTec.

Unless I'm wrong, I believe this is right.

F22B has a DOHC NON-VTEC version, also a SOHC non-vtec as well as vtec versions
