What type of tires do you use? GSR models.

I'm in need of a new set of tires, and was going for the Bridgestone Potenza but don't know which one to get.
I might considering buying 2 set of tires, one for summer and one for winter. So my questions is, what do you guys use on the winter and summer?
1. Name of manufacture of tires.
2. What model.
3. Summer or Winter? If you have two sets of tires, please list them.
4. All seasonal tires?
Looking for mostly stock rims, the blades. But any will do.

Yokahama AVS ES100.
I use it all year round. It doesn't snow in the bay area, so its sufficient enough. If it snows where you live, then get a set of snow tires to run for the winter.
Another good all season performance tire is the Falken Ziex 512

i just got kuhmo ecsta asx all weather performance tires. it snows where i am so i needed and all year tire. they seem to grip good on dry and wet roads
I use Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position, summer tire on my GSR(with blades) on the stock rims. The tire size is 195/50/15.

Toyo T1S 195/55/15 on 15x6.5 Rota Slipstreams. Summer tire, excellent wet and dry.
Winter it sits on generic all seasons on steelies.

Which Potenza tire were you looking at? Im assuming its either the S-03 or RE 010. I would go with the S-03 because they last longer and have better wet traction. I went with the 195/50/15 and I noticied acceleration increased due to the smaller tire. It gives razon sharp handling and are only $85/tire on tirerack.com. You can also go with the 205/50/15 S-03 but it would cost you a lot more.

Summer tire, they aren't big fans of water or snow, but on dry pavement, there the best thing besides an R Comp

Yokohama AVS ES100's 205/45/16
More of a dry weather tire, but still doesnt do too bad in the rain. I've driven on worst. As for snow, definately not going to even try with these tires. I'd just pick up a set of steelies, and throw some cheapo snow tires if your worried about driving around in those types of conditions

Another tire that is almost identical to the AVS ES100 is the Sumitomo HRTZ-II (except that the Sumitomo is considerable less expensive)
I use those in 205/45/16 on my GSR and they work great. In wet or dry conditions they do well. Obviously better traction in wet can be had from tires like the S-03 but for the price of the sumitomo, you can't go wrong.

I've been in the tire industry for a few years and have never seen an all season perform as well as a snow tire in the winter or as well as a wet/dry tire in the summer. The AVS ES100 is pretty popular, but for me it was noisy and only lasted for one summer. This is the first winter for my Ice Guards and i've been able to drive confidently thru conditions where 4WD's and AWD's just spun their tires. If you live where there's snow, and can afford both, it's definately the way to do it.
