Look around in the Sponser's section, they sell kits for your application for about 225.00 that include everything but the head. No modifications required except ofcourse tapping the oil pan.

Use the golden eagle kit with the oil filter adapter that comes with their kit, it makes life easy.

The only thing i would worry about would be deck warpage, since you dont plan on rebuilding the block. Plus with the stock bottom end and stock tranny, you wouldnt be able to take full advantage of type r head/cams and the overall better power band that comes with vtec.

If you want it to be reliable build it up right the first time, you should be able to get a b18a shortblock to buildup on the side for about $100-200. Get it machined, and go with shotpeened stock rods, and some higher compression pistons. Im to lazy to go over this whole thing so check the allmotor forum, its a good place to start.

It doesnt seem like it at first, but its cheaper to do it right the first time

Save your tax refund for a tranny too

You cant just slap the head on the block and have it last..

Get this ****,,
GE lsvtec kit..(Lets you do it without machining the block..)
ARP rod bolts..(Stock b18a/b rod bolts stretch)
Balance the rotating assembly..(The ls block has a shitty stroke ratio and vibrates like a motha..And vibration will kill the oil pump gear and eventually kill the motor.)
Get a good ecu..Personally I would convert the head to obd1 and get a p72 ecu instead of converting your car to obd2 and getting a b18c5 ecu..

You Dont tap the oil pan..You tap into the oil supply on the back of the block to get oil to the head..Use a t-fitting or the thing that comes in the lsvtec kit..
