what battery do you guys run?
That heel toe battery would have a hard time turning over an all-motor high compression motor. It only has 250 cold cranking amps
Our battery has 800 cold cranking amps and is about the same size as a normal battery.

It is made of AGM mat that is vibration resistant which makes it perfect for drag or road racing. It has dry cell technology which allows it to be mounted in any orientation. Ask racers liek Sav Leone, JJ Olson and Ed Bergenholtz how they like it
I also use it in my street cars and even my forklift

If I am not mistaken "The Rock" battery is the same size and weight, but has 850 CCA, or you can go with the smaller battery at 700 CCA and save 7 or 8 lbs.
"The Rock " battery is manufactured by the same company that makes ours. The actual CCR is 800. Ask me how I know
The other battery shown I highly doubt that there is an actual 700 CCR from that thing. I have the manufacturers complete battery line up and there is nothing close to it on here. It may have about 600 or so....

I have the heel toe and it works fine starting my jdm b18c.. The car sits for usually a week or two at a time and has sat for two months occasionly and it hasn't skipped a beat. It weigh's 11lbs and I think I paid about $90 for it. This has been a very popular battery in the road race community for awhile now. If the electrical load on the battery is close to stock it should work fine. I probably wouldn't try to run any real big fuel/water pumps on it.
I run this battery in Ed Bergenholtz's Mazda 6 WITHOUT an alternator and it has been great for 2 seasons long. Try starting that motor with a machanical fuel pump trying to build fuel pressure for 2 solid years!!!
Also, JJ Olson and Sav Leone use this battery and they swear by it
I use it in everything, it has just been a great battery overall

So why is it so much better than the rock battery if they are the same according to you. If that was the case, yours would be the same as the old holley battery also, right?
Glenn,
Where did I say ANYTHING about our battery being better than the Rock battery? It is the same thing. Look back and read my friend. Yes, same as the old Holley batteries.

I understand that Vince, but why does the manufacturer supply one battery with a label of 850cca and another with one that says 800cca if they are the same? The same also applies to the smaller battery, I used to have the smaller Holley and the label said 750 cca. Is this guy just doing this so they are all differant, kind of like the differant color tops?
No, the actual CCR of that battery is 800, not 850. The company marketing that battery is exaggerating which is fine, but not the actual CCR. I could label ours at 880 CCR, but then that would be a false statement.
The only difference between the two is the color of the body, that is it

These battery guys sound like the car audio guys and thier amps. This one is rated at this, no, this one is rated at this.
So, if you have the manufacturers build sheet on your battery, I have to believe you.

We use the TurboStart. Its a WHOPPING 48 lbs, but we don't run an alternator and we can run on that battery all weekend and never have to charge it. Hell we could probably go 3 weeks without charging that badboy.
Just hang that slab of meat 2 feet in front of the front tires and its good to go.
