As if it wasn't bad enough when the movie came out, now that it's out on DVD/VHS, the calls are pouring in again. Here is a conversation I had a few mintues ago with a local:

"R&D, this is David"
"Yeah, I have a 97 Civic with a Spoon motor and I want to put on a T66 Turbo. I just redid the rods and crank..."
"You have a Spoon motor and you want to Turbo it? What CR motor do you have?"
"Compression ratio?"
"What is the block code."
"The wha...where is that?"
"Does it say B18C...?"
"Oh yeah, that is what it is. A B18C."
"And you want to turbo it...with a T66...(trying to hold off laughter)...hold on, let me get someone who can help you..."
"OK"
"R&D, this is Ian"
"Yeah, I want to turbo my Spoon motor."
"Can you bring the car by for us to see it. Can you go outside and look at the block code?"
"I don't have my car with me. Do you sell Motec exhausts?"
"Motec exhausts? Ummm, there is no such thing. You really need to bring the car by for us to look at. We would love to see a "Spoon motor," especially a local one."
"OK, thanks."
This is no joke. I was expecting him to ask for NOS, too. I would have told him he needed at least 2 cans, though...

I was waiting outside for my gf to finish her shopping at a mall(woman!). Some guys ask me to roll down the windows to talk to me. He asked:
"Yo, what you got in it"
-"Pretty much stock"
"You know, my friend got a GSR with Spoon Engines"
-"Really? That's cool, he race with it"
" Yeah, he's running on the streets now and will go to Englishtown (drag) soon"
-"......ok, so he's running race engine on the streets...are you sure it's a Spoon engine?"
" Yeah, it said so on the engine"
-"That's cool...cool (I am out of words)"
At this time my gf came out, and I drove away in confusion.
