Default N. Cali/S. Cali ITR Meet?

Yoshi brought up the idea of meeting N & South Cali. Maybe Buttonwillow raceway? Assuming we can find someone running a track event, and they have room, during the time we like would you be interested in going?

If we want to do it at Laguna, we should try to join up with another club or group thats hosting a event their. Since most likely the attendance will be like 20-60 ITR's, that might be a good idea since Laguna is so expensive to rent. However most won't be able race if they are really loud.
Also Sears is a possible idea since they just finished redoing a lot of it.

ive heard TH is fun, but where is it?
I just picked BW for it's somewhat centralized location and cheaper price than Laguna.

Maybe the west coast SpeedTrials can do a hondatech only group like they did back east?

I think Thill would be too far N. for the Socal guys, ~8-10 hr drive. Laguna probably wouldn't be bad but it's is really hard to get days and the 92 db sound limit will but the brake on quite a few guys.

I think a lot of it depends on what's open and when.

yeah Thunder Hill is a blast. I wish I would have gone last time when DSR rented out the track. Stupid presentations that day costed me a race!
But yeah Thunder Hill isn't that hard to rent and I have many contacts on going about doing it. Its a long drive for some, however it would be cool to try something new. LSIR is also a possibility (a killer place to race as we all know) however the sound limit is a pain and also we will have to join another team who's renting the track to save on $$$$.

I personally don't want to be renting a track. I thought the suggestion was we all got to TRC or something. Let them do all the work and we simply pay them $150 for the fun. Renting tracks is a lot of work I don't want to deal with, especially the liablitly.

That is the perfect approach.. That way, the event doesn't depend upon how many cars actually show up, much less participate on track, and no one gets burned financially.

Best Regards,
Harry

they have instructors that can help you, plus many people will be their to help you out.

As tracktime, etc... said TH would be perfect cuz no one would have to worry about being burnt bad, etc... Doing it at TH will prevent major planning and working/money to start going. Plus the liability, etc... is small.
Lets get a count going...

Even though Thill is closer for us N Cali people, and it is a great track I would still prefer Buttonwillow & get a better turn out.

I can't for the life of me figure out why people would want to go to Buttonwillow, or Thill for that matter, during the sumer though? It's only 110 there. That's why I voted for Fall.

Who wants to front the money though? Last time for the Expo we had it nation wide and I think they almost broke even to lost a little. If its just gonna be a Cal thing or even another R meet, do you think we will get enough people? Very few Nor. Cal people will drive down their for some reason. Why? I dunno
I just don't want another person to rish losing money cuz thats hella messed up. With T.H the rish factor would be almost nothing seeing that I've heard of many people just renting the track for their friends and being ok. With T.H is just a rate per. person with a max of a certain number of people. With Buttonwillow it seemed like a flat rate for the track for the day, with a limit I think on cars. Correct me if I'm wrong.
