Default Muffler Polishing...?

I have a stainless TRS Yoshimura pipe that is starting to get the 'spiderweb' effect. Its basically just a bunch of really small scratches from washing, etc. I tried some stuff called 'Blue Magic' that supposed to work for stainless finishes but it didn't buff out the scratches at all. Any suggestions? I want to give it that new mirror finish...

Use a buffing wheel and some polish.....if their minor scratches it will get rid of them, or if you have acess to it...airplane polish will work like nothing you can imagine...just don't use it on your paint

Is that different from the aircraft stripper that everyone uses to remove paint?

What kind of polish do you reccomend with the buffing wheel?

no no no... USE THE POLISHING WHEEL!!! go to Lowes, buy a 3/8" arbor $5. Next buy a 4 or 6" Polishing wheel (medium) $5 to $7. right next to the polishing wheels you will see tubes about 1" Diameter and 4 1/2" long. they will each have a different color cap. this is called Jeweler's rouge. they will have a chart next to it that says what colors you use for what kind of metal. most likely, you will need 2 different sticks of the stuff that go for $3 each. Make sure you ONLY use a polishing wheel for one kind of rouge. connect the arbor and wheel in a drill. hold the rouge in one hand wile holding the drill in the other. spin the wheel on the rouge to get it on the wheel. DO NOT APPLY THE ROUGE STRAIT TO THE METAL! after you have a little on the wheel, buff the metal. when your done it should look like a mirror.

Total cost: $25.00 + drill.

and by the way wax doesn't work good on a muff because when it gets hot it burns the wax

its not a "wax" its a polish...
turtle wax CHROME POLISH....leaves my muff looking like platinum baby
it works great, just buy one of those nice applicators and you'll save tons of $$$ cuz you dont need a buffing wheel for a damn can, what a waste of cash

Sanding is the only way you will get a good polish! im almost done polishing a 97' GSXR that had BAD scratches in the frame from a crash and my 99' 900RR. here is a teaser of the GSXR. not the frame in this picture was not nearly done so there are still swirls

Flat objects are pretty easy to do. Polishing my turbo took me forever! All these small curves and stuff....big pain in the *** but the bling bling is nice.
