I've done a search and no luck.

People with cross drilled rotors, when it comes time to do brakes, how does one go about getting them re-surfaced? Or is this not necessary? Reason, I am asking is because a friend has some and is converting car back to stock and offered them to me.

Cross drilled rotors are not resurfacable. I wouldn't take them, they are just pimpy but have no real advantage.

 

Thats what I thought but wasn't sure of that. Thanks! Anyone else??

I don't think they can be resurfaced either, but not 100% sure. I also heard that cross-drilled rotors warp or bend after time. Just get some OEM brembos. If you look around you can get them for a decent price. Good luck.

 

driled will crack. they are considered "show" rotors. Yes Porsche uses them, and they crack there all the time also.

Oh and I think they ARE NOT resurfaceable.

they can be machine/resuface within its limits just like any rotor as long as they are not cracked, etc., look on the rotor for the spec(s) and have the it mic'ed to see if its still resufaceable

 

How? Don't the cross-drill hole edges catch the bit or whatever it is that actually removes material from the rotor surface? I've also heard slotted is better for a daily driven car if you want increased performance, but I don't know if those can be resurfaced, either. If you get slotted rotors, make sure the slots stop before the edge of the rotor. It will be stronger than a rotor w/ slots that go all the way to the edge.
