it's a sponge, you can clean it

spoon is using paper filters now for EG's and EK's. which is pretty homo

all you really have to do is get a bucket of soapy water (use your fav. dishwashing detergent like dawn) and dunk the foam filter in there. when rinsing, make sure you rinse from *inside to outside* so you push the embedded debris toward the outside of the filter surface.

just be sure to rinse well getting all the soap out and make sure it is completely dry before you put it back on.

No?

It needs to be oiled in order to function (catch dust particles)! At least that's my experience with sponge filters. I wouldn't think Spoon's would be different.

I would think so too. I had a sponge filter on my VR6 but never got around to cleaning the filter whereas I only had it on for a few months before the car was totalled.

Iceman, AEM, K&N, UNI (Comptech?) all sell filter cleaning kits with oil. I see a trend... but I can't see anything about Spoon. Maybe an owners manual would say?

Yes and to Oil it you just put a thin layer of light weight oil in a pan and turn the filter in it coating the outside. I suggest doing that twice and then pat dry it.

paper air filters don't need to be oiled
cloth air filters need to be oiled
some foam air filters need to be oiled, i don't think sp00n is one of them
