mini me question

my cousin has a 92 cx that was 8 valve. can he put on a 96 ex head with having to change the pistons. will the car run any putback would be nice thank you

some people say that the 92 cx have 8 valve pistons in them. i did a mini swap to my 92 cx and it had 16v pistons in it. i guess most say to just open it and find out.

look at the top of the pistons. they will have either 2 indentations for the valves or 4

2 indents=8 valves

4 indents=16 valve like these ones below
