B18C head oil leak
i noticed a little bit of oil leaking out under the distributor area and right where the block says "B18C".. it's not enough to notice a difference when checking oil or anything, but I still don't want a leak. Think the head could have been torqued down incorrectly when the metal head gasket was put in?? What should it have been torqued down at & how can I fix this leak??

the passanger side, exhaust cam seal might need to be changed.. i would think oil would drip down on the engine code stamp from the front side of the engine, not the back by the distributor.
get the distributor cap o-ring and and end-cap, i bought both from acura for like $12. isn't hard to do either.
without pictures i can't say for sure if that's the problem or not.

its possible, but i find it hard to belive the distributor O ring is leaking all the way up front by the Engine ID stamp... i see either a VTEC sol. gasket, or exh. cam seal writen all over this one.
theres no oil near the vtec sol. so i know its not that gasket.. but it could very well be the exhaust cam seal... anyone want to tell me how to change this??

so if it's not leaking around the vtec sol. then it should be the cam plug? #8??

hey man i got the same problems, i went to a mechanic today and he told me to get these parts at the dealer: distrubuter O ring, vtec selinoid gasket, cam seals, valve cover seal, spark plug seals and the grommets.
Im going to get it done next week

try checking your head, make sure your head isn't warped, just by the way you were trying to explain it. It sounded just like my problem where oil leaked out under the headand slipped through the headgasket and leaked over the b18c1 stamped, and once i pulled the head and had it checked it was the head that was warped. Try looking at your head to see if it's waroped or not.

because the oem piece are known for deteriorating faster then aftermarket brand like STR or Golden Eagle.

You can invest in an STR one (I've had it for 3 years...no leaks).</TD></TR></TABLE>

I couldn't tell which of those 2 for mine, so I just got them all. They're not real expensive...

yeah, those are the ones... double o rings, and make sure not to tighten them down too much... just a **** hair past snug... they don't take much.

yeah, use some hondabond... it wouldn't hurt.. just dont' crank down on those cap bolts too tight.. they arn't made for support, only a decent seal.. and once the aluminum is snugged down to the o rings.. the o rings make the seal... honda cam seals are notorious for leaking.
