Default Electric weld,(newb) but this place is new so..

I was wondering if there was an electric weld without the gas? and is it effective enough to weld metal/steel?

Stick welding too. Yes, both are "effective" enough to weld metal (since that's what welding is used for [yeah yeah, with exception to plastic welding]). They aren't pretty though.
