Default Need something to store two bikes in

I live at home and we don't have a garage. I've tried to convince my parents to build on but it's not going to happen anytime soon.

We have a second gravel driveway with walls on 3 sides that can fit four cars and right now only my dad parks in it. Here is a sweet diagram. The numbers 1,2,3,4 are how the cars can park with the walls being in the front and on the sides.

Diagram:
____
l 1 2 l
l 3 4 l
-street-

I figure I can convince them to at least pave that and level the front two spaces(1 & 2) so we can have an area to put our bikes. My dad can park behind them in space 4.

So onto the real question. What can I use that I can easily get two bikes(my brothers 636 and my soon to be R6) in and out of while protecting them from the weather and shady *** people? I was thinking about a big *** Rubbermaid shed or something but they seem kinda shitty. Any suggestions?

If you don't understand my diagram I'll follow up with some pictures and ms paint

If you're made of money, you could each get one of those bike safe things, the one's that look like big vaults.

If not, there's the shed, then a carport, and then even cheaper, an easy-up tent superglued to the driveway.

Shed would be your best bet, those safe things are like 3 grand.

Although I don't see your pops appreciating that in the driveway, maybe in the backyard.

Here is my second driveway that I want to get paved. This is looking at it from the street:

And here is a picture taken from the upper left of the first picture looking down onto where the shed would go. Click for full size:

Putting a big ugly shed there won't make it look too bad

I found some bad *** shed companies but they all seem to be based in the UK.

Try calling these guys http://www.tuffshed.com/. One of my good customers is a manager out here in Yorba Linda, Ca. Anyways... they build it to any size you need and they level the ground and lift the floor off the ground. Very quality stuff. They basically build it on demand. Just need to paint and add electricity. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. They'll add windows and doors where ever you want.

Oh ****! Really? My bad. I'd call them anyway and see if maybe they recommend someone in your area. I figure, with the rest of the country having all 4 seasons and everything, there should be other companies like them.

Dude, you worthless bastard. Build a shed. I could build an entire shed that looks like a small house in a day or two. Go get some wood and get started.

Seriously though, it's pretty easy to do if you're not afraid to just go for it.

Why not just get some 2x4's and ply wood and build a shelter the size of your 1&2 space. You can make it look nice so Its not an eye sore, hammer drill some stainless loops into the concrete to chain your bikes too, and build a roof extending off the front for your dad to park under. Maybe that last part will make him a little happier to pay for it.

That's what I was thinking. Just some small type of shed. It would be easy to build, I'd just go help him if I lived closer.

I don't want to put my new bike under some POS shanty type deal even though your mullet does give you some credibility as a carpenter

sheds aren't hard to build. a friend built a "shed" for his 71 nova over a weekend; he should really call it a garage because it came out damn nice.

edit: enclosed trailers are nice too.

We were thinking of just picking up and enclosed trailer that can fit two bikes and leaving it parked there to double as a trailer and a garage.

My cycleshell?

We have that up in my other driveway. But the way my fucked up driveway is shaped you can only put one because at any other angle the bike will fall over.

I wasn't susgesting you build some shanty out of old wooden crates and spare tar paper. I think if you put a little thought into it you could come out with something nice.

Yeah I know. I just like to bust Z's ***** because he drives a domestic and has a mullet therefore everything he does is a little shady. It's a kills thing

I guess I was looking for a quick fix when the answer is most likely going to be more involved than that.

Well... I can't tell how much of a slope you have but I would think the easiest way about this is to utilize your cycleshell. Can you somehow level the ground with some sand/bricks/etc and lay some plywood on top?

How about if you get one of those wheel chocks? You know, those things you roll your front wheel into so it holds the bike up. Get one that you can bolt into the ground.

Or get creative with a bike stand. I'd probably drill holes on the stand and bolt a long piece of 2x4 to it so it works like an outrigger.

Anyways... once you've got a way of keeping the bike up, you can use the cycleshell or some sort of nice bike cover.
