88 Crx USDM Cluster Pinout * SEARCHED*
Does anyone have the pinouts for an 88 crx cluster?
I searched already and the nearest thing is the EK cluster swap pictures which are not accurate for the 88, it may be the 89 depicted.
My cluster does not light. I tested the bulbs with direct 12v and ground and it worked, so I know its not the bulbs. Then I tested the dimmer switch.
The dimmer switich consist of 3 wires; solid red, solid black, and red with black.
The solid red and red with black acted the exact same in voltage. With the car lights on I got a reading of 4.3v or so with the dimmer on full, as I decreased the dimmer the volts raised to a maxium of 11.4v with the car off.
Does anyone know why?
My oil pressure light also does not turn on when I start the car. Can this be the effect of a bad oil pressure switch?
Thanks in advance.

I looked there already. I stated this in my first post. They do not match up to mine. I think that may depict the 89 models. I am missing one pin on each connecters not just one. And the wire colors do not match either.
Thanks though for actually responding. Half of H-T seems to be dead or at least blind.

I just tried wiring up some gsr cluster plugs to my 88 usdm HF cluster wires, but also ran into the problem that the ef-honda.com is incorrect info. I am going to check out my Helms when I get to the garage to find the pin outs. will post if I am successful.
Well im looking at the wiring diagram right now. Im not good at reading electric diagrams, are any of you ?? if so I can scan or take a pic of the page in my helms and you could probably figure out the pin outs.
Thanks, but all us 88 owners have realised that diagram is wrong. It is for a 89 and who ever made it just assumed 88 is the same, not true. read up a few replys and you will see..thanks anyway though

Thanks crowerrex, but just like the image on ef-honda.com those colors are wrong. Should I just assume the pins on the 88 are the same function, just different colors ?? I cant believe even the Helms manual is wrong!
I did a 00 ITR cluster swap into my 88 crx si here about 5 months ago and ued these pinout locations and they worked perfectly, I ignored the colors as some are wrong. Let me know if you need to know anything else.
