Default Radiator Fan Switch

This is the switch that I bought from an autoparts store. This is aparently the radiator fan switch that goes so often in G2's. Can anyone verify that this is the thing to replace so that my damn radiator fans will shut off once in a while and not kill my battery?
Also, does anyone have information as to where it goes. I looked briefly as to where it could go, but could not find the location. Can someone help me out? Thanx in advance.

looks like a fan switch to me.. i know on g3's they are right next to the thermostat.. just follow your lower rad hose towards the block and it should be right there..

Certain years had a fan timer module in addition to the fan relays, & it also had 2 fan switches.

One job of the fan timer is to shut off the fan after xx?? minutes EVEN IF the fan switch is still closed.
