Not exactly Type R related, but cool enough to mention:

In addition to having the Kumho MINI fleet for autocrossing at this year's Classic Motorsports Mitty at Road Atlanta (CMS is the sister publication to GRM), Lotus is planning on bringing at least three Elises for people to autocross on Sunday. Just show up, first come, first serve, and get an AutoX lap in a Lotus Elise. Event dates are April 28-May 1, check the Mitty Autofest link at http://www.classicmotorsports.net for some more info.

I'm eager to get behind the wheel of one myself...

Well, Im 6' 5" and I got in one at my work last week, was kind of a battle getting my leg under the steering wheel hahaa, and to see the people standing in front of the car I had to lean up to the windshield and look up to see their faces haha, its just like a go-cart

 

blah, why does it have to be so far.....


hopefully one of the elise drivers will be nice enough to give me a ride along at expo.

I'm about 6'3", you've got me curious as to whether i'll fit....sometimes it seems like the smaller stuff has more space, I can barely wear a helmet in our SRT-4, but JG's old MR2 has gobs of space.

 

Forget the Elise, I'd drive an Exige.
