is it safe if i drive my prelude with aem cold air intake in the rain?
and whats the difference bet the stock header and aftermarket header for the 5th gen ludes isnt it the same hp gain

You can drive with an AEM CAI in the rain so long as you dont fully submerge the filter element. As for the header question: it all depends on what brand of aftermarket header you buy. But most decent aftermarket header you show some dort of a HP increase over the stock one.
why is water in the intake such a problem? Is the intake too low to the ground or something? I dont know much about it, but if water gets into your intake, wouldnt it be a good idea to place it higher, closer to the hood?
air wouldn't be quite as cold. i don't think it'd make that much of a difference, but cold air kicks ***. but, like the others above, you're cool with the bypass valve.

FYI - every 11 degrees colder the air gets, you gain 1% hp. Also, yes it would make more sense in some situations to use a shorter intake...its called ram air or short air intake, AEM makes a good one, but unless you have a hood vent or an air box (both of which I believe are excellent approaches) its not the best idea.
