Default Bare with me guys, wheel price question

After seeing some of the better done jobs of wheel powdercoating I decided its time to do it myself. Yet, im in NY and sometimes our roads can beat up on wheels pretty bad. So, Im thinking, let me just buy another full set with rims and tires, and keep my stockers for winter/alternate use. Got someone local with "mint" set for $600. Thoughts on that?

600? how good are tires?

typical street price:

wheels in good condition with good tread tire - 400-500
just wheels - 250
wheels with almost done tires - 300-350

this is all assuming wheels are near mint or mint

Nishant's numbers look pretty good.....if you can get them locally you will save yourself at least $50 of shipping, so keep that in mind too.....

i paid $1k back in 2001 for a brand new set of tires / wheels.... the tires cost ~$600 plus shipping and mounting so it seemed good at the time.... they have come down in price since then.

why not just buy someone's used aftermarket wheels?

There are very few aftermarket wheels I would even entertain putting on the car, but honestly I love the OEMs. Ideally Id have a set of stock chromes and then powdercoated. No one happens to have a SPa with either black or gunmetal goated wheels? But yeah, Hopefully i can do them for $500.
