You mean do the valves at full lift contact the pistons at TDC? I doubt that's the case, but I'm not willing to experiment.

Why does it matter?

It matters if I throw a timing belt and cause the cylinders to make contact with the valves.

Or if I am timing it and happen to get it completely outa wack or something.

its just comforting knowing that no matter what happens, the cylinders will NEVER make contact with the valves.

Anyone know for sure?

Im all but positive that it is.

I know of a way to find out for sure. Remove your timing belt then try to start the motor, tell us what happens.

I think you mean pistons, not cylinders. Also, I would worry much more about not messing up those particular aspects of a properly running engine than considering the ability to have such catastrophes occur without overmuch damage.

Just my personal opinion.

Oh, I'm quite familiar with the different reasons why this would be the case, but I'm not sure why it matters whether or not the engine/head combo promotes or defies interference. Just don't break it and it won't be a problem.

I understand the definition of interference, just dont know if the motor is or isn't interference.

And no need to be an ***, flood, its a serious question and important to know

as with most honda engines, it is. don't put off that timing belt job or you'll have to replace a few valves.

I was just wondering for my own knowledge library I have compiled in the back of my head lol
