Default 2004 Accord Satellite radio install

I am planning on installing XM radio in my 2004 Accord EX. How do I get to the back of the radio so I can use my exisiting antenna rather than have to figure a way to run the antenna through the roof?
Thanks!
Bill

Just make it easy on yourself and run the new antenna on the trunk lid. Not sure, but I don't even think the honda antenna will plug into your XM unit. Plug is probably different anyway.

I have not much experience with that particualr car, but even if the plug ends are different, you can unclip the red and yellow ends off your aftermarket antenna and use them on the in-car plugs. I beleive they are the same. Call you local dealer of just trace them under your dash.

well, im not an expert, but ... Satalite radio needs a satalite reciever... So I highly doubt, that even with extensive fabrication and alteration of your FM/AM radio antenna... that you could ever use it for XM radio...

You will aslo need the reciever for XM, or, the Modulator.. which considering you probably have a stock headunit you will have to use.. I believe.

Assuming thats the case, the FM modulator, is basically a thing you hook up the satalite reciever to, and then to a power outlet/cig lighter.. this Modulator will send out a FM signal on one of several choices of frequencies.. then you tune your stock headunit to it's station, and recieve through there...

This is the setup we did on my brother's Honda mini van... we put it on the roof, ran the wires under the rain guard thing on the windshield.. down and into the engine compartment, and through the goblet (rubber stopper) that is in the hole in the firewall on the passenger side.. yours will probably be like the civic's location.. more or less... below the battery and a little more center in the engine bay...

if I am wrong in these assumptions, please give us more info... so we can help you more with your setup.
