The dome light in my Civic won't turn on when I open my door. I moved the switch all the way to the front, which makes it so it isn't on, at all. And in the middle it is supposed to come on when you open the door. It used to, for about 1 month, then it just stopped. The light turns on when you move the switch all the way back though...Help please

 

Could it be a wiring problem...?

I'll definitley try that...haha, sometimes when I turn it on, it doesn't come on, so I have to hit it. Thanks.

 

I might check the door jambs rather than bang the dome light or headliner. Theres a piece that works with your door to know when its open or closed make sure its not sticking. Hopefully you can figure it out.good luck.

 

yeah... the door microswitch. test it by leaving your key in the ignition and opening the door. if you get that annoying beeping that's trying to tell you that your key is still in ignition, then your microswitch is working. then you're down to finding a wiring problem.
