Just wondering if anyone has ever cleaned their Vtec solinoid on a 96-00 civic? If so what did you use to clean it? A friend of mine cleaned his with gasoline(not sure if thats good for it? hell i dunno) but oh my jesus it popped way louder than before. So i was gonna try it, let me know what you think.

 

I cleaned mine with carb/choke cleaner. You can get it at any pep boys or discount AP. Just make sure to rinse it off thoroughly.

 

did you use like a pipe cleaner or something while pouring in some cleaner? then what do you rinse it with?

 

any other ways to clean it?

 

Brake Clean works for anything that you need to clean!
