too much $$ for this S
i notice that you live in Hawaii....
do cars cost more there because they are shipped in smaller numbers to the islands vs. the mainland?
that may have something to do w/ the asking price....

If your financing this car, your payments probobly wont be much different if you just move your price up a few thousand and get a brand new one...if you really want that one, go in there and tell them that you'll buy it today if they sell it for $22K...if they say no walk away and see if their desperate to sell it or if they are just really really dumb. Chances are they'll stop you before you leave to work something out.
ge.es.ahh: give me the details of the deal.. eg.. how much down, monthly payment.. how much are u financing? do u know ur credit score and history? 27 is their asking price yes.. but tell me what the sticker says, then the adendom *thinner tall sticker next to the big sticker*.. theres usually two prices on the car. and also.. did u research online for the price? whats the invoice? try http://www.kbb.com and look at suggested prices for retail/private party..
dj is right, but also consider trade in... I just got my '02 w/19k for ~$23 from a dealer, I found some 3rd party deals that looked better, but what it came down to is I needed to unload my '03 escalade and in my state (WA) I would have been obligated to pay sales tax on the new car, dealers are exempt, so I get what is referred to as a "tax credit" (that is a buyer perk, don't let the dealer tell you different). Anyway, just more food for thought
