question about motor build...
anyway heres my story.. i work at a shop and a customer came in and had a 94 GSR with 157k on it. the car didnt start and needed a distributor. she didnt want to put the money in the car so she gave it to me. now i have a del sol with a d series with 211k on it and naturally i want a b series.
anyway i was wondering what you guys pay for the avg rebuild. i can assemble everything but im talking about all the machine work. also what all should i get done? im waiting on income tax and i cannot decide wether or not to rebuild this gsr motor or just get a lower mileage long block like a b20 from hmotors. im not looking for anything crazy maybe higher compression pistons and diff cams. i drive 60 miles a day back and forth to work and the car is my daily driver so reliability is an issue. thanks in advance for the help.

if you would have read the post a little closer you'd see im asking for a price on the machine work.( hot tank, re-deck, resleeve etc.) im sorry if i was unclear. thanks for the help and ill let you know on the potty training
wow thank you. thats exactly what i needed. for some reason i was expecting it to be more expensive than that. ill call around to local machine shops tomorrow. thanks again.
I don't recommend taking your machine work to just any automotive machine shop. Try to find a racing engine builder that has most of the equipment in-house, and especially one geared towards import race engine building if at all possible.
I've made that regrettable mistake one time more than I care to admit.
If you're in Philly, give Ed's Racing Heads a try.
