Default 17" Rim Tire Size

This is just kind of a broad question but I just purchased some 17x7 Rims for my 1994 LS. I was wondering what kind of tires would be best for an overall good appearance but good handling and traction. I have a choice between 215/40/17 or 225/45/17. I know the 45 would be a bit of a taller tire but its also wider. Would the 225 fit on the 17x7 rim without rubbing inside the fenders? Would it even fit on a 7" wide rim? Any help on this matter would be great. Also which does everybody think is a better tire, Goodyear Eagle F-1's or Kumho Ecsta 711's?
