Default '02 Accord LX- Factory Security System?

After reading the various posts about alarm systems, I havent seen anyone talk about the factory alarm kit.

I just bought a '02 Accord LX with no extras. I was planning on buying the factory security system and installing it myself. Is this a good choice or should I go with a different brand?

Any help is appreciated!

Anyone?

My fear is not being able to find a good reputable after-market installer. Circuit City and The Good Guys are out of the question, well for the moment at least. I dont know any of the local shops in the San Jose, CA area to tell if they do a good job or not.

So is there anything wrong with the Factory Honda Security System? I figure it should be good enough to keep the amateur thieves away..?

H'ep me pwease.. I cant sleep at night hehe

Thanks for the reply Teken. Ive read alot of your posts and hold your opinion in high regard. I didnt even think about the OEM wiring hardness being an issue. I appreciate the heads up.

Ive been considering one of the basic Clifford Concept systems since all I'm looking for is keyless entry and some type of theft protection. Well that and a system I can add upgrades to. Not sure if this is a good system or not, but hopefully it will suffice fr now. Opinions on this?

Thanks Teken for the great advice. I'm a good around the shop and have the tools. I've read the Clifford instructions and have the wiring diagram for my car. The only thing that has held me back from doing my own install is the wiring diagram is vague.

Since Ive been bitten before by bad installs, I really dont trust many shops and would prefer to do the install myself or install the factory system. With that being said.. the only thing thats holding me back from doing an aftermarket install is..

It states a few things in the diagram that I'm not familiar with. For instance, it mentions these as items listed in the vehicle stock wiring harness:

LOCK MOTOR(white/red)
UNLOCK MOTOR(lt. green/red for LX models)

I'm assuming the above is the built in Immobilzer from Honda. Not sure. This is probably not even going to be a concern at the moment. Ive read as long as I dont mess with the yellow harness for the airbags I should be fine.. dunno.

As of now, all I'm really looking for is keyless entry and basic security(glass, if someone hits my car and amateur theft deterrent) and later with a upgradable system perhaps add more bells and whistles.

Again thanks for the great advice, much appreciated by many.
