Default 93 cbr question?

i just barely bought a 93 cbr f2 and was just wondering if it is possible to convert the whole entire fairing so that it would look like a newer model cbr, like the 2000+? any opinion or comments?

If you have the money, anything is feasible.

However, the only parts that will fit your F2 without extensive modification would be the F3 fairings.

In the end, save your money towards buying another bike later on, and just enjoy the one you have now.

Can we get some pictures for reference. I don't know what the subtle differences are between the F2 and F3.

Off the top of my head - The side fairings, just below the upper, has an indentation. The bdywork is a bit more creased on the F2 compared to the F3.

F3 fairings will work, I have heard the f4/f4i will not work. They changed from all steel frame to aluminum from f3 to f4 and it was a drastic restyling. The upper fairing is different between f3/f2. In the f2 the blinkers are molded into the upper. The inspection doors are different (smaller on f2) the lowers are different to accomodate the smaller inspection doors and upper fairings. The only thing that is the same between the f2 and the 95-96 f3 is the tail section.

The best update you could to is put the 97-98 tail section from an f3 on there. If you do this, you will have to replace the seat and taillight as well.

That is what I have on my f3. Essentially my other bike is a 94 f2 frame with 98 f3 everything on it (front end/motor/bodykit/suspension/wheels etc.)

If you do this body kit swap you will have to replace the lights, the fairing stay, and pretty much all plastics (except for maybe the tank). I havent noticed a difference in the styling of the tank.

There was a company out there that made a 98 style 900rr upper for the f2. I looked into getting one but could not find the company. I was informed that they went out of business (this was around 2000-2001). Airtech also has another unique bodykit that is designed for the f2/f3's. I believe their website is airtechstreamlining.com.

Or you could try to fabricate your own mounts and go f4 or race bodywork but I think that might be too much work and as you will find out bodykits are expensive.... unless you get race fairings but the quality/finish on them is substandard compared to stock. (Or maybe I am just picky but if the bodylines dont match I think it looks like crap.)
