Potenza S-03 or RE730? Any comment?
I've heard that the S-03s are pretty awesome, I am probably going to get those when I get some money. I dunno about the RE730's, I think they're good too though. Check out http://www.tirerack.com, they carry both and have user reviews of every tire. HTH
SO3s are Awesome! Rules! Hence my name.
They wear quicker than I would want but thats what I get with a max performance tire and a turbo. If youre getting stock size i think 195-50-15 from tire rack is like 76 bucks or somehting
wet performance. Rules!
IMO only thing that touches these tires are Michelin pilot sports.

195/50r15 would be my choice. they are closer to 205 than you think (compared to other brands 205's that is)
S03 are AWESOME. very good performer.

The S-03s are on sale at tirerack.com for $76, and at that price, if u have money, u are making a mistake not to get them..
I just ordered the s-03's yesterday from tirerack. 195/50R15. A guy from tirerack called me and told me i was ordering too small of tires for my car. I explained to him the whole deal about my car not being stock and how I wanted a little bit thinner tires. He tried to get me to buy a 55 series tire, but they don't make the s-03's in 55. Buy the 195/50R15, they are the best choice.

I'm using the RE730s and I absolutely love them. If these are great, I can't wait to try out a set of S03s. W/ a treadwear rating of 300 for the RE730s, I'm still only going to get about 16,000 miles on them though. Bear in mind, however, I need to drive through a rather windy canyon road as part of the daily grind... often driven at 8/10ths and then some...
I'm using the 205/50 15" size tire, BTW.

"the Re730 sucks compared to the so3's " - Firestone Service manager Is that a good enough answer? I work next to them and thats what he told me when i asked, i ended up getting the Re950.
How can anybody like Nittos? Ive had the Yoko AVS-I and I loved them but they wear out to fast. Now the S03, from what Ive seen in my friends cars, have lasted so long and he drives hard and plus the grip good in wet and dry conditions.

I have the RE730s, size 205/50-15, on stock 15"x6" wheels, and I absolutely love them!

Just switched from the stock Michelins a few months ago, and there is no comparison. Roads that I used to think were very challenging on the Michelins have now become flat out boring with the RE730s. After getting used to driving on the Michelins, I don't think I've gotten anywhere near the limits of these things. Lots of grip. Nice stiff sidewalls. And if you're worried about the "bubbled out" look of a 205/50-15 on a 6" wide wheel, I think the square shoulder of the RE730s keeps it to a minimum.

it looks like they are a great deal for the 195-50-15, but that's smaller then stock for my gsr, is that difference noticable?

Just changed RE730 from Costco today, 390 installed with tax included! Excellent grip and handling.
Probably next time will change S-03, but Costco doesn't carry it....... The newest they got was RE730.

I'm on the 2nd set of 730's. I feel like there's nothing they can't handle, except snow. I got about 20K out of the first set with whacked toe settings for most of the life. 205/50 looks very good on a GSR 205/55 is too bubbly.
You sound l;ike your putting them on gsr rims or si sims and if so you will need a 205 50 15 that is the recommended size for the rim other wise it is a 195 55 15 . And the Re730 are better for street use less ticky than the so2s but much longer life still at grewat tire highly reccommmended
I have the 730s (205/50/15) and love them. But I’ll have to say that the S03s are much better, but they are designed to be better. I don’t think you can really compare the two. They are in a different league. If you have the money go with the S03s

To chime in on the RE730 versus the S-03s, my roommate has RE730s on SI rims on his EG coupe with an LS motor.. They are a GREAT tire for the street, excellent handling/grip in the dry.. I would recommend them to anyone --- however >>
I have S-03s on my EK hatch with a GSR motor, and I can't say enough about them.. They handle extremely well on freeway on- and off-ramps and they take 12second passes on the street like they were DRs.. I've raced a similar setup to mine where we launch hard and stay side by side until mid-4th, and he was running A-032Rs.. That gave me a good idea of the kind of tire I just invested in.. As for the Yok A520 and Bridge S-03PP, I won't buy another street tire any time soon..

can someone please tell me if it's worth (on a GSR) spending the extra on 205 50 15's, or will the 195-55-15's be just fine?
Thanks
