I am asking this question for a friend who is building a 94 teg Improved Touring ITA race car. Does anyone know if the 97-98 JDM Type R 4.785 final drive gears will fit into the 94-01 RS/LS/GS gearbox? and/or will it fit into the earlier 90-93 box? thanks for any help.

 

it will fit into the LS gearbox, but you're going to need more than just the ring gear, you'll also need the pinion shaft. and no, it won't fit into a cable tranny.
