my '93 del sol was broken into and had been driven to the opposite side of the mall parking lot that i work in

im really thinking it was a previous owner or a friend of him that did it, because i only got one key with the car, im thinking they used the other key to start it and drive it - my ignition clumn wasnt broken and my clock had not been reset

the only thing that makes me think it was done some other way is that the driver window was smashed in - if they had a key they wouldnt need to break the window

my question is - what ways, if any, are there to start a del sol WITHOUT a key that would keep the clock from being reset?

any help would be GREATLY appreciated

 

What key do you have? They may have the valet, or does the valet key allow you to unlock the door as well? Just a thought.

ive seen these things called jiggle keys or some thing of that nature sold on the internet i saw this on the news though and you take this key and jiggle the crap out of it and it might work or might not honda keys arent exactly good compared to lets say a bmw key. just a thought

i never thought about that - i cant remember - does the valet key lock the doors , start the car or what?

 

valet key opens doors and starts car...cant open the trunk with it though

 

vallet key? is that the smaller cirlcle one? im sure it would still work on the door though.

You cannot open the rear storage compartment, trunk lock release,or the trunk with the valet key but you can start it. Still not sure on the door locks......

that would make sense cuz i had subs in the trunk and theyre still in there - i know they heard them when they turned the car on i had my **** up full blast

 

my car key opens the doors and starts the cars to my friends 92 hatch, another friends old 91 crx, and another freinds old 91 accord. ANOTHER friend of mine used to have a hatch and his key would open my doors and start my car as well.

my key would open and start my bro's 92 hatch and would open my friends 95 hatch but not start it.

 

CRAZYYYY ,seriously thats crazy to hear of keys like that. I think we have heard the story of a honda master key floating around but nobody ever has one or saw it whatever. unless tzonni does thats a bunch of cars the key is working for? i have tried my 93 coupe keys(valet, and otherwise) on my bros hatch and vice versa with no luck.

My round Valet key for my Del Sol opens just the 2 doors and starts the car. Doesn't open trunk, interior trunk lock for 95+ and the rear compartment lock.

 

i was leavin a pool hall once 'n' walked to up this red teg that i thought was mine...put the key in the door 'n' unlocked it...when i see the inside i realized it wasent my car(automatic, mines stick), i looked up 'n' saw my teg a lil further down in the parkin lot...was crazy ****...i didnt try to start it but it mite of worked...

 

Depending on how worn the keys are, you can lock/unlock and even start cars that aren't yours. Jiggler keys are basically shaved honda keys. you can get blanks anywhere they cut keys and shave them down. I knew a guy that owned a 1991 4dr civic and his key use to unlock my car but never start it. It is very strange.

 

i have a set of jiggle keys and i can unlock and start almost any honda, with ease..

 

A shaved down honda key can open most Hondas :-/
