Painted Engine Bays????
I recently had my engine bay painted while the motor was out.
My question for people that have painted their engine bays with the motor out is:
How did you prevent from slamming the crank pulley/transmission into the frame rails??
here is a picture of my engine bay, and i circled the spots that you will normally hit with the crank pulley and transmission case.

Any help would be appreciated

well if you have a lift for the car...you could always lower the car down onto the engine...
or just put some duct tape down over the "impact" spots and then pull it off when youre done.
after a few months of trying to keep the engine bay clean you probably wont even care about a few scratches

i got one of those motor angler thing that i attach to my picker...and i jus angle one side of the motor all the way while the other is done. and slipp the motor under the mount
a lift would be the best. other wise put some sort of protection in those areas and use the angler thing they were talking about sounds like the next best idea.

If you had a lift it would be all sugar, but if your doing it from the top, take off the the things that will get in the way and install them later. Crank pulley, mounts, etc. Good job on the engine bay.
