Suspension upgrade help..
Hi, hoping I could get some advice on how to go about changing my suspension.
I put H&R springs on the R a while back just to get it sitting lower, for a cleaner look. After about 2 years now, the car seems more bouncy, and the rear sits lower than I would like. All in all it just doesn't feel or look right anymore.
My goal is to get the car sitting like it did when it was stock, only lower (nose slightly lower). I don't really see any track time as of now, so for now I'd really just like the car looking and riding nicely. An improvement would be nice, but I'm not looking to get into the thousands on a suspension setup as of now. I'd like to spend somewhere in the range of 500, or maybe a couple of hundred more.
I'm also wondering if I would still be able to use the H&R springs with whatever you recommend.
Any advice would be really appreciated.

I would check your dampers if they are stock and have been riding on those aftermarket springs.. they may be blown. As for upgrading the ITRs suspension, you have to be careful. It is so sweet from the factory that you could easily send it south if you don't do it right. Doing it right doesn't necessarily mean tons of money (but you do get what you pay for).
People have great sucess with KONI, but I do not have first hand experience with them, so I'll let somebody else chime in. It sounds like you just want the car to 'look' a certain way - that is much different from changing the suspension for performance benefits.
Lastly, be sure you search (suspension is covered lots in this forum) and take a visit to the Suspension forum.

Thanks for the response. I was actually looking into Koni, but I'm not sure which series to go with. I also wanted to be sure that if I did go with Koni... the car wouldn't sit low like it is now in the rear?
Would I be using the same H&R springs with the Konis?
Which series Konis are recommended?

If you're concerned about a decent ride and ride height, a set of coilovers with decently matched shocks (Omnipower comes to mind) would do the trick. I use the 12K/10K sports, and I like them. You can get them cheap (about $600) from kteller.com or a few other places.
I've also used the Koni Yellows (one-way adjustable) for ~50K miles with stock springs. No issues. George Knighton used them with stiffer springs and they would periodically blow on him (not sure who else has had that, but he has).
I've use Bilsteins on other cars, nsxtasy uses them too, and they are a nice quality shock.

Thanks for the response. Would be nice if George jumped in
I wonder how the springs I have compare to the stiff ones he used that caused the Koni's to blow out.
Would the rear end still sit lower if I used H&R's and Koni's?
It would be great to see some pictures of R's that use various suspension setups.. with comments about the setup.
